Couple of Q's about my teg... idle, brake, fuel, startup
When i push the brake pedal all the way down (like when the car is sitting there idling) the car revs up to 1k rpm (from it's idling speed of about 700 rpm) then down to 500 rpm and back to normal. What could be causing this? I don't think it's normal...
Also when my car is low on fuel like a lil lower then 1/4 tank (and lower) it takes a lil while longer to start. it starts right away if i push the throtle pedal tho. I was thinking this could be caused by bad fuel filter or fuel pump...

how long has it been since you replaced your fuel filter?
i'd replace the filter before i would replace the pump, for obvious reasons.
pumps usually (but not always) make a straining noise before they go out, listen next time you're driving for a whistle or humm

yea i've never replaced the fuel filter, i'm replacing it soon, i'm not sure when it was replaced by the previous owner.
and the fuel pmp is a lil noisy but the rear interior well it's non existant...stripped.
and i'm not sure about what the benofits of a higher performance fuel pump are, but i have ctr pistons and sum bolt ons and thought it might be helpful (especially since i'm sure the fuel pump is orriginal) so it has 111k miles on it.

My 96 does the same thing. I think the brakes are jsut the master cyclinder needing a little more power so it revs the engine.
I have changed the fuel filter and it did not help the problem. I was thinking about a new pump but i only have about 95,000 on the car. Maybe an after market fuel preasure riser would help it out. Not sure.
P.s. be carefull if you change the filter out. I cracked the banjo fitting ob the lower hose when i tried to tighten it down without holding it. Not a big deal a local nascar shop took care of me and hooked up a nice steel hose with the AN fittings and had the banjo welded to acept the AM fittings.....looks nice and works really well now.
