Default Bought another honda!

I just picked up a 89 Civic Si Hatch
has springs/shocks, strut/sway bars, performance head package, reprog ecu 9k redline, PERFECT interior, only minor external damage, headers, exhaust, intake, ect...

All for $275!!!!

one problem...there is a gaping hole in the block
but I'm getting a block for 45 bucks.

Also, most of the "mods" are going to a friend.

I'm just gonna get it running for now...later on in 2002, I'll drop in a B20/vtec, or just a straight B16

Turbo down the road of course!

You are applauded...EF is the best bang for the buck...you can realisticly build a 13second car for about $3500 including car...nothing beats it!!!!

Umm what motor does it have? and what constitutes a "performance head package"?

Not to be an ***, but unless youve got a b-series in there with some serious mods (or d-series with REALLY serious mods ) youre not going to be reaching 9k very reliably?

Who's the BS artist that sold you this thing?

Congrats, good job in buying the SI models because any of the lower trims would have caused you headaches when it came time to engine swaps. That is one lovely deal too.

ROFL did you forget to read the part about the HOLE in the block!?! That is probably what happened when they used the 9K ECU.

I have seen it hit 9k...I don't believe that its reliable at that rpm though, I'm not sure where the ecu came from, but I believe the valves/springs/retainers, came from crower, the cam may be a bullfrog.

I really don't give a chit about all that stuff though this is my daily driver while I work on my Turbo B16 civic.

all that sohc garbage will be going out the door soon as I finish the other car.

I have known the guy that owned the car for over a year...so I didn't just "find it"
he blew the motor, and wanted to get rid of it...I oblidged....I'm really looking forward to tearing into it

hehe..and here I thought you were done with Hondas(from a few of your previous posts). That's great that you've got another car to drive while you work on the turbo B16. Post some picks of your new ride, I'd like to see it.

BTW..thanks for the link a week ago to find the oil pan for my d16, I actually found a place that had the 99 ex oil pan not but 25 miles from where I work. Beats looking all over Houston.
