I have a broken thermostat needle, not totally broken but when the car just sits there idling then the needle will work. but after i drive around for a while it will just rest back on the cold side. Anyone know whats wrong with it? Not to mention my heat freakin sucks bad. could the broken needle have anything to do with that?

This is kind of a wild guess, but have your replaced your thermostat? It could be stuck on full open. Does you heater work when you start driving then go cool when the car sits?

 

i dont think the thermostat has ever been replaced, ive only had the car since about oct. but after the car gets warmed up then the heater stays warm. it jus takes, in my opinion, a long *** time to warm up. what do you mean by stuck on full open?
its like on a cold morning when i start my car, i let it sit for about 3-5 minutes atleast before i drive it. its still cold even after that. I drive it for a while and then the heat will start to kick in, but on the needle it still points to cold. say i hit a train and end up sitting there for a while, the needle will slowly creep up to about half way but after i start moving again itll fall back down.

 

thermostat suck open. Once you start moving again, airflow through the radiator is cooling car back down.

 

is there any way to fixit or do i jus have to replace it?

fix = replacing. Only $5-8 for the thermostat.

 

My car did the same thing. I replaced the thermostat and it works fine now.
