Does anyone know where or what the name of the closest road coarse tracks are that are around Southwestern Indiana? Or where I could look to find out this info? That would help too. I'd like to go to road coarse and either watch some of the races or participate in a Track Day type thing. I have never been and I'm thinking I will love it but I'm pretty sure there is nothing in immediate area like this.

Putnam Park is 40 miles west of Indy. I hold an annual lapping day there on May 26th if you want to come up and watch and ride. Indianapolis Raceway Park is in Clermont on the west side of Indy but helds few sports car events on their road course as the drag strip is their primary use. To the west is the track in St. Louis, to the south west is Memphis. Nothing east at all for a long way but Mid-Ohio is a world class facility an hour north of Columbus, OH. To the southeast is Road Atlanta outside Atlanta and Barber Motorsports Park is near Birmingham, AL. VIR is at the VA/NC border but an indirect route makes it a not easy 10+ hour drive from you. If you want to go well north of Chicago up into Wisconsin, Road America is one of the historic and storied road courses of the US but it too is a sizable trip.

I am in Cincinnati area and the south eastern corner of Indiana and pretty much Putnam Park, Mid-Ohio and for you maybe St. Louis or Memphis will be it.

 

Grattan and Gingerman are both in southwestern michigan. blackhawk farms is on the wisconson/illinois border, and even farther west is mid-america motorplex on the iowa/nebraska border.

 

waterford is also just north of detroit
