So i just got my h22 in and i havnt taken it past like 105 so i was out on a road with no traffic so i decide to see what i can get her up to so i am in 5th and i hit 114MPH and it cuts out. i am at like 6k on the tack. I have no clue WTF is causing this. I dont have a check engine light bulb in so i dunot know what codes i am running but i dont have EGR, IAB, or o2 hooked up. whould the o2 sensor or knock sensore cause this????

its a p13 not sure if its JDM but i think it is because people have told me those have the speed limiters on it. I roadrace my car and some of the straights are very long and you can get up to 120+ on them. that is why i need to go faster that 114.

most jdm p13 ecu's cut out at 118 mph.

you just have to deal with it or get a different ecu.

Ludelover don't be a hypocrite. "I've taken mine up to 140, but why would you need to go 114...honestly" Why would YOU need to go 140...honestly

You are stupid for trying to top out on a public road (not that I have never done the same thing...but i admit it was stupid)

You are using the Jap ECU, which has a governor that I thought was at 112mph. Regardless, you can only get rid of that by chipping the ECU or getting another ECU.

before you go and replace the ecu i have a jdm model and you can just bypass the speed limiter on the ecu, in the uk we have to buy an KPH to MPH convertor and that does it for you, its very simple and costs about £35 so about $15. my Lude now goes up to 150 mph before i run out of road......

From what I hear you can use a Apex-i rev/speed meter to get rid of the governor. I'm going to try it when I get by H22 back together

lol i know it was totally hypocritical. In my defence, i was on a desert strait away in west texas, no one around, and just tried it.

afterwards, i felt like i had accomplished absolutly nothing, lol. If you are racing on a track, i feel bad, having you top out because of an ECU sucks, i would definatly swap it.
