Default Need help diagnosing sound

I was driving home from work at 6am and then all of a sudden this loud "thud" comes from the front passenger side. So I pull over and check the tire, which is good. The lug nuts are tight. I did notice the wheel well lining lost some screws. So I start driving again and the thud sound hits again. As I pull into my apartment complex the thud sound comes back and then my shifter starts to wobble. I know it sounds weird but I had my hand on my shift **** and it actually felt wobbly. Ill jack up the car to tomorrow to check for any obvious problems. Any one know what I should look for besides the driveaxle and cv joints/boots? I had a new clutch put in like a month ago and I'm wondering if they tighten everything up? Any hypothesis will be accepted

Prob need 2 be a bit more specific on the sound and when its happening. If its happening when you accelerate quite quickly or are breaking quite hard then check your engine mounts. My girfriends car was havn the same probs as yours and it was her front engine mount that was snapped.

Well i jacked up the car and found no problems with cv joint/boots. No obvious problems with the axle. I did find that my tranny was leaking oil. I think its the tranny seal. Hell I just had a new clutch put in last month. I know the mechanic used 10w30 instead of honda MTF but I wonder if that would cause the leak? As far as being more specific I really cant. It doesnt just happen at acceleration it happens whenever. While Im turning, while I am going 40 just whenever. I had some drive my test drive my car and he found that my shifter would wobble whenever he was in 2nd gear and let off the gas. I tested it and happened with me too. Would a loose mount or linkage cause this? ITs hard to tell whether this problem is linked with the tranny leak and the "thud" sound.

Just a quick update for those of you who are having the same problem I had. The sound was in fact 2 loose engine mounts. When I got to the shop the passenger and rear mounts were really loose. Instead of just tigtening them I just replaced them all. Man the difference new mounts make is unbeliveable. I realized I got used to the engine flex and know how my car really drives. The flex I had going from 1st into 2nd is gone and the accleration response is great. Now it's weird not having the engine flex but I love how well my car really responds now.
