whatup...need advice quick..installing sound sensor tomorrow
what up everyone..i usually post in the integra forum..but i got some questions on adding a sound sensor to my viper 2way.
i know i have to remove the existing shock sensor...but what i want to know is...where is the most optimal and beneficial place to mount the microphone...i was thinking of flush mounting it by drilling a slightly smaller hole on my dash so it can pick up anything......any suggestions????im doing the install tomorrow morning....help is needed and greatly appreciated.
thanks.

You don't need to remove the shock sen., mount mic. as high as you can in the center of dash, or in consol facing up

PS what model viper? there should be other triggers inputs.

I mounted mine under the dash, but originally wanted to put it somewhere near the center console facing up, then I got too lazy...and that's how the story ends. But it sucks though, to test the damn thing you have to sacrifice your window
So I'm not even sure how effective it is.

not at all.....i wired it up myself...drileld through the drivers side lower dash....and it works great......turned up the sensitivity all the way and tapped on the window a couple of times and the alarm went into warn away mode.
the model is 69xx. its a great alarm. i opted with the sound sensor for one main reason
i tend to get aggravated real easy and get over reliant on things. if i put a proximity sensor in....i would eventually just figure everytime it went off its nothing...now with the sound sensor.....if my alarm goes off im good.
i wanna get a removalbe steering wheel set from sparco so they cant get the car
would i be safe with that or would my interior and motor be gone like whoa

it does.....so overall im happy with it...gonna get a few more layers of security then be done with it
its best to mount it in the center of the car and high like someone else said.. as for hooking it up u should have a green wire coming from the alarm on the 690 and you will connect the blue and green wire coming from the glass break sensor to this green wire.. if you have any questions download the owners manual offline from http://www.alarms.com
and *** for testing it.. its best to use a full set of keys and either move the keys along side a glass window or jingle them on the window, doing this makes the same sound frequency of breaking glass..
