Winter Tires
i dont know what the weather is like over there, but i have the new kuhmo ASX all season tires. has great tread life (440 or 400 i forgot), very grippy in the rain, and handles almost as good as my previous Yoko ES100s. it doesnt snow in CA so i can't help you there
Well i've been doing lots of research on tires becuz mines where bald when i bought my lude. I've decided to buy the pirelli zero nero which is an all season tire, but if ur jux looking for winter (snow) tires look into the michelin x-ice. go to tirerack.com they actually give specs and reviews from customers.

I run an advanced driving shcool in Kincardine, Ontario. We suggest winter (snow/ ice) over all season tires. On our skid pad Winter tires out perform all seasons by 25%+. They're cheap insurance.
Back from the dead. I got blizzaks ws-50 on mine. I think they might be overkill though for southwestern CT since we get only moderate snowfall here from time to time. I'd probably get lm-22s since they offer a bit better traction on dry pavement. The ws-50 break traction very easily in rain too. But when it does snow, however, I feel totally confident on the highways in the 50mph range.

Yeah, I think if I lived in your area I'd go with one of the "performance" winter tires like the LM-22's or Michelin Pilot Alpin's.
But from experience, a hardcore winter tire like those Blizzak's will get you through just about anything - even on a lowered car. I've run both Blizzak MZ-02's (their discontinued ice tire), and studded Nokian Hakk 1's. Both in a 185/65-15 size . . . . waving at SUV's & AWD guys as I pass them stuck in snowbanks is immensely satisfying.

205/55-16 Blizzaks. Work like a charm....
Used them on my 5th gen for about 4 years... nothing except deep snow stops you.
If you've got the big bucks... the Vredstein's are what you want!

It doesn't matter what kind of winter tire you get as long as its a "winter" tire and not an all season. If you get a lot of snow there then get anything you can. Doesn't have to be the expensive Blizzak's, I have a knock off of those from a Canadian store called Canadian Tire and they kick major *** over all seasons.
Depending on what car you have I would also suggest getting 15 inch steel wheels with taller, skinnier tires and that will give better traction also
15 Inch CRV Wheels with Canadian Tire Nordic Icetrack tires.

Here is some more winter tire/fun action:

I got winterforce snow tires on my lude' and love em. They are 100% silcia based as opposed to the first 50% on the blizzaks. Once you get past the first 50% of tread on blizzaks they use a harder/longer lasting rubber so you won't get all the grip you once had.
I have got a good deal on 4 used winter tires from my cousin. They are barely used Blizzaks in front and ice tires in the back (don't remember the make) The thing is that the front ones are 215/55 and the back ones 225/60. Do you think I will have any problems with this setup? The only reason im getting them is cause my cousin is selling me them for 130$ for all 4 and there almost new. Oh yeah im putting them on my stock 5th gen rims.
That's pretty wide for a prelude I think, especially for the winter but they might be okay. I would wait to see what others say. I'm pretty sure my tires are 185\65\15's so they match the overall diameter of the stock 16's with tires so the speedo isn't that far off.
