Axel removal help!!
OK my car is getting towed away to a shop for some work, but the front drivers side axel is only half way in. The joint popped so its too long to go back in and needs a rebuild. So how do I take it out? The brakes and all that are done and out of the way, I just need to remove it from the motor/tranny. How is this accomplished?

If you have the axle removed from the hub assembly you should only have to pop it out with a large screwdriver or prybar. It should pop out with minimal effort.

Mine looks completely different. You know in that link where you pry from well mine doesnt look like that
Mine is a much smaller shaft that goes into the tranny. Not a big fat cylinder that just meets the tranny. Mine like goies flush into the tranny, so there really isnt anywhere I can see to pry from

i just had to put new axles in my 99si and i tell you what dont ever try and go cheap and buy like auto zone or napa axles...they WONT fit THEY SUCK...i went with a set of stage 2 gator racing axles and OMFG these axles are SICK gator glen from gator axles is the best customer service guy you could ever want to deal with he does everthing in his power to make you the happiest customer...and alot of thanks to stan at fast turbo for getting on the ball and rushing them to me after all the shipping problems....GO WITH GATOR ITS WORTH THE MONEY.....

his problem turned out to be a midshaft issue.
