Silverstars vs. PIAA Extreme White....
Alright, I searched and suprisingly didn't find much. Has anyone compared the two? I basically don't care about the cost between the two, I just want the brightest. These are for my wife's astro so you eg guys speak up since the eg and astro both have plastic headlights that aren't clear.
I have the PIAA Extreme whites in my fogs and love the color they are but like I said, most important for her van is brightness cause the factory headlights suck, and I can't find a way to put driving lights on that will look good.

OK? Have you ever used Silverstars to compare? Anyone else?

I had the PIAA extreme hyper white lights or something along those lines (the $75 ones) They were very very very good. I had them on a 95 eclipse and the different from stock was night and day. I can only imagine the difference from crappy van headlights. I'd definetily recommend them.
Good luck

Both the Extreme White and Silver Stars are both rated at 4000K. I've bought SilverStars in the past and they didnt seems to last very long. I took all precautions not to touch etc etc. I've never owned the PIAA's so I cant compare.
If you're looking for really bight PIAA makes a bulb rated @ 7500K "PLASMA SPARK BLUE" Expencive, but maybe worth it if PIAA bulbs are quality.
Here's a scale:

I have silverstars, my lights are about %15 brighter than stock, and have a "white" color to them, pretty cool, they've been in for about 2k with no problems
I have piaa's in my 2k Si, and silverstars in my 91 hatch........ Granted the headlight housings are not comparable my opinion is that the piaa's give off a brighter more pure light. The silverstars are nice too, but if I had to choose one I would go with the piaa
I hope this helps in some way!!!

i put amber silverstars in my rear turn signals (cause i switched my 98 taillights to the clear 99-00 taillights)... they seem a lot brighter than before... but that may be because before they were clear bulbs with amber reflector...
i use the world hologen headlights. they are pretty bright and i like them. i use the 80/100 watt light bulbs. you can get them from ultimatefinish.com

Hehe, then you hate me.
My SI:
Headlights = PIAA Super White 85w
Fogs = PIAA Extreme White
Modified the factory harness so the fogs are on without the headlights and stay on with high beams.
My Truck:
Headlight = Hella Off Road Housings with PIAA Super White 85w H4's
Fogs = PIAA 959 Off Road projectors with 85w PIAA bulbs
Driving = Some of those PIAA square lights, can't remember the model.

I just got the silverstars for my 94 coupe a couple days ago, I'm pleased with them , they're definitely a good step up from stock. Never tried the piaa's though so no way to compare. The silverstar's give off alot of "white light" and when its pitch black outside they light up the surrounding environment very well.
I have had both in the sol. I liked the piaa's but they did not last. the first one blew the high beam after about 1yr, i put the oe back in. then about 6 months later the other one blew the low when i turned the lights on. Then i got the silverstars and I think they are just as good for a 1/3 the price. Only had the silverstars for about 4 months so time will tell.
ive got the silver stars.... one thing Ive noticed is that the lights on my honda suck in rain lol.... I love silver stars, they are bright, but when high beams are on, its is freaking amazing how bright everything is, much much more than stock... but yet again not good at all in rain... I think it is because my housings are clear...
I have never been impressed with the output of the silverstars, Checked them out on a few of my friends cars and they werent much brighter then stock and were barely whiter then stock. PIAA is one of the best upgrade bulbs you can buy quality wise, they still tend to blow just like any higher output aftermarket but tend to last longer then brand X. Twisted I would suggest just going with the PIAAs or you could go HID's....lol you will save in the long run
60-80 PIAAs 4 times or 350 for some HID's
Can you really put a price on Vision and safety no....lol

Yeah, but I don't want to be made fun of because both my headlights are different colors.
And I get the PIAA bulbs for about $50.

Ive used them both on my 95 coupe, and i would choose the Silverstars. Ive used the PIAA Super whites and Hyper whites. The Silverstars are brighter to me. If you really want bright, go with Raybrigs.
hmm raybrig eh? seems like a ricer brand. im looking at em on ebay and it looks like any other cheap ones. any experiences? i had piaa super white on my older car, and it wasn't that bright. any pics of piaa vs silver stars on the same car?
btw... is piaa really xenon gas? or does it just say that
