Default Some pics from Limerock

Sorry if these don't belong here, but since theyre mostly prelude related I though I'd post them.

I attended an HPDE @ Limerock last monday and here are some pics. It was cold as hell through out the day and at 2 points we even got snow on the track. Thankfully it was just fluries so they didn't stick at all. However due to the low temps the track was still slippery as hell. Despite this I think I progressed since last year's event. During the last session I was able to maitain enough speed to keep the car in 4th gear the whole way while still being to pass people (including EVOs and WRXs ). Of course I came equipped with some new hardware such as as GC/Konis and 215 azenis (F40psi R42psi) on stock wheels. This year I managed not to spin out though I had to avoid 2 cars on the last sessions. Enjoy...

not a prelude, but some pics

my group was full of Evo's, other WRX's, a couple Cobra's, RX7, RX8, I guess it was all the Novices with more horsepower

He gave me the point by on the main straight

No name straight

Throughout the day I got pointby's by everything from a 318i to an SL55amg to a 400whp Evo

AWD > slippery track

I had it going in a straight line for the most part lol
Anyone want it? It will be for sale soon.

Wow, nice pics of us! Was cool to meet up with another prelude there. Was an awesome event, let's just hope they put it in september or something reasonable one of these days!!!

First 3 sessions were great but on my last my brakes were shot and then I spun coming out of big bend Not to mention the blinding sun to increase the fun factor!

I have a bunch of pics but I'll just post my 2 favorites (courtesy of Sonny).

Most driving schools cost $300-$500 for 2 days. That includes class time and track time.

Your car just needs to pass a basic tech. You can run a stock car. I did all last year.

Road racing is as expensive as you want to make it. For some reason people think you needed to drive a car that is modded to hell. NOT TRUE!

It's a lot of fun.

THis event was done through NASA: http://www.nasaproracing.com

Great group that organizes events around the country. All you need is a car in good shape and a helmet. You get class instruction and then an instructor in your car. When you get more experience you can drive solo, have less passing rules, etc., and eventually try to qualify for a true competition license.

This event was $200 for a day, some are more some are less.

Frosty: New hardware works great - by looking at the pics I had alot more body roll than I felt, but it still felt solid as a rock even though I was at stock ride height. I still had the same brakes I did at last year's event; same stock rotors, same axxis ultimate pads (2 events + 1 year of street driving), all I had was fresh ATE blue which made a HUGE difference in fade

Yield: Yeah that sun was bad, plus the track was its coldest all day. I noticed that after your spin you took it down a notch. BTW what gears were you in throughout the day? I know the 4th gens are geared shorter so Im just curious.

here are some pics:

Yah, after that spin I decided to take it very easy. Partly because I realized we were losing grip due to the temperature drop and partly because my brakes were going. Sounds like your axxis pads held up but mine didn't do so well. Both at my last event and at lime rock the rotors started getting uneven deposits on them by the end of the day so they started vibrating pretty badly. It almost felt like ABS was engaging every time I braked. So yeah, last session sucked!!! I'm getting some track only pads next year.

As for gearing, I have an H23 so my gears aren't as short as the H22. I pretty much stayed in 4th the whole time. If I had no one in front of me on the last turn and really got good speed through it, I could shift into 5th near the end of the straight but it was kind of pointless as I would have to downshift almost immediately. It was kind of cool just being able to focus on cornering and not worrying about too many shifts.

Stupid question- Why do you have to tape the headlights/corners/blinkers etc. etc. ? Broken glass issue or something?
