Default leaks from the diff out the drive shaft seal

I have an 88 crx with a ZC sohv, there is a leak coming out the driver side, drive shaft oil seal and the bearing sounds bad too. Can the oil seal and bearing be replaced with out pulling the trants out? and if you can how do you do it? I have the honda service Manuel the book I have makes it look like the trans has to come out. I have changed the drive shaft before and it looks like it can be done from under the car.

you mean the cv shaft?
make sure the snap ring on the end of the splines on the axel is locked into the carrier of the diff, if you replaced the axel it may not have locked all the way in.
