Turns out that knowing a friend got me a good price at Import Auto Salvage. I will be getting an H22a4 Long Block for $1,500. only 21,450 miles on her

yes there are cheaper long blocks out there, but for the quality and service its worth it.

you know, if your car will last, I would suggest you wait until you get to san diego...wouldn't you be more likely to find a motor there?

i cant predict how long it will last. there was a lot of shavings in the oil pan. if the movers start it up and it dies before it gets on the trailer im screwed. that and i need a car to get back and forth to work. so its 2500 rpm shifts for me

engines out here arent too hard to find, you just have to ask around which i am doing.

Sam has a tendency to find them for $800 so i have him looking at his sources as well

 

bump damn sucks to hear that hey when you get here and still havent found a engine yet let me know ill help you aite

 

i will have a new engine before that. even if i have to have Anthony build me one. thanks though.

That motor will def. get up on and off the trailer, but it's just a matter of how long it'll last once you get it to Cali and start driving to work.

Do you know if there is any way to figure the year of the motor
by the stamp in the front

when i rebuild this engine over the winter its getting an F23 crank

Thanks corey, i would but i dont have time with going out to sea and getting everything ready to move to rebuild a block. if i did i would just pull mine apart and redo it. but i do GREATLY appreciate the offer. it means a lot!!!

from my experience h motors dont last long once they start spinning berings...

as for ur f23 crank.. you do realize that f23's have VERY narrow rods.. ie narrower than d-series??
