1st - ISO isn't a "speed", it's the sensitivity level of the film/CCD
2nd - you can't use the flash from that far away...it just doesn't work
3rd - get a tripod!
4th - keep practicing, it gets easier.
Also, messing with the lightness settings in Photoshop with really dark pictures only makes the images look "foggy", like yours.
