Default D15b vs Mini Me, which is best under boost?

Hello,

I have 2 crx's. My original has a d15b (jdm EG8 vtec) and was boosted. My new crx has a crx si motor with a vtec head on it.

Now, my new crx has an SI tranny, but a shitty clutch. I'm considering swapping engines since the d15b is higher hp motor. My friend says I should just drop the tranny and swap the clutches and that's it.

The d15b has been boosted in the past, and I will put my turbo kit in my new car. From past information, the CRX SI motor has a weak oil pump in comparison to the EG motors. Is this true? Is there other things I should upgrade to make the EF bottom end equivalent to the EG bottom end. Can I swap in a newer oil pump onto the CRX SI motor? What weaknesses exist in the EF motor that I the EG do not face?

Any, and all info is appreciated.

I think the D16A6 block is actually better... I'm not positive but I remember someone mentioning steel mains, maybe something else.

However I would say the D15B would be a better choice since Mini-Me's have higher compression.

I would say the better under boost would have to be the D15B simply becaus ehte D15 is a complete engine while the mini-me is 2 engines put together.

and the mini-me in stock form will most likely yeild a high compression.

I wuold say the D15B would also be better, cause it will hold boost better, cause it will be less likely to have a head leak.

swisschez nailed it. the mini me's problem is not high compression ratio, it is that the piston and combustion chamber do not match each other, leading to detonation issue. also, the rod to stroke ratio on the d15 is better. it will be less max piston velocity (true rpm limiting factor) than the d16 at the same rpm.
