Default ED7 not starting

I just bought another hatch. I wanted this one cuz it was pretty good deal and i really wanted a Si especailly an 89 Anyways the car as of right now does not run. It has a stock D16A6 Si motor in it. I checked the ECU and seems fine, I even swapped it out w/ another PM6 i had lyin around and still no luck Everything seems fine when i turn the key toI and II position, but when i turn it to III it does not turn over at all, All u hear is clicking from the fuses.... the guy i bought it from said it could be the Oil Pump or a Bent Valve???? I dunno about those . He said it was running perfect on the fwy. and it just died on him...

So please help me diagnose my car TIA

if its the starter or not; because without grounds/fuel/spark it should STILL crank

Since it won't crank, I am thinking the engine is locked. Timing belt may have broken, or more likely, it may have seized from lack of oil or some other catastrophic internal failure.

Have you checked the dipstick? Is there oil, and does it look/smell okay?

It could also be an electrical problem. Check grounds, starter, battery, and alternator.

Does a bad main relay still allow the car to crank?

I checked it out all the fuses and grounds are good to go. Also i tried push starting it and no luck, just locks up and stops right away. I live in a hill also So i think my motor is locked up. I also looked at the oil and it looks and smells brande new, not black at all.

Also How do i check the main relay???

Most likely it smells new because the owner realized his mistake and put oil in it, only a tad bit too late. So then he sells it to the first sucker who will take it believing its an easy fix. Time to swap I'd say . - Darrell

Yea thats true in some cases, but i can afford to do anything i want to do my car even if im getting ripped off, i dont care its just money. I mean its not like i throw money away , but i got the car for real cheap and i would have paid more for this none running 89 Si, thats the only year and model i wanted. So anyways i just wanna get it on the road, i didnt buy it cuz i thought it was an easy fix, the interior and among other things is clean. Whenever i feel like and have time to buy a motor i will, but right now i can get this decent looking motor to run + I luv blowing motors up like right b4 i am about 2 swap a new motor in

Try a 17mm socket and big ratchet on the crankbolt
and see if you can turn it by hand.. [counter-clockwise]

yeah seriously try another battery or just jumper it to another car and try it, i had the same problem, throught it was my main relay and it turned out to be the battery. main relay usually pops a fuse when it dies. The way to check the relay is in the CRX manual, click link in sig if you need it. You need a volt meter.

In response to all of this....I SOLD HIM THE CAR. Jeff, i told you what i had been through, wasn't lying. the motor froze on me. I have been building motors for 8 years now and its not a dead battery, or starter. The clutch, flywheel, BATTERY and TB are brand new.I have all the erceipts to prove it. It ran like a champ for a 2 days. I motor and tranny came from ART701 on here. he can vouche for it. you need to pull the motor out, or start seriously ripping into it, I think it is internal...just as i explained when you bought it.

Secondly...the reason it smells like new oil, is because it onlt has like 17 miles on everything since i had it running, than it froze on me. Not trying to screw you, i told you everything from the begining, just as i know.
