Default BRAKE QUESTION

ok, ive got an ek civic coupe. welll. my pads went out the other night. and started scrapin so i picked up some new ones, im changin them out. and long story short the piston came out and caused hell (we will not explain how it got out ) well, i finally get it all back together and start it up and im able to push my pedal to the floor with no problem, fluid is fine..

do i need to bleed my clutch, or is my caliper crapped out.

just want to ssee what you guys think about this.

have you tried pumping your brakes? When I changed my pads last month I started the car up and the pedal went to the floor as expected, all i had to do was pump the pedal and the pressure came back within a few seconds.

How did you put the caliper back on? did you press the piston back in with the old pad and a C clamp or did you just throw the C clamp on the piston itself? sometimes they'll get stuck cockeyed and then you'll have to end up buying a whole new caliper.

did you get the dust boot over the piston properly? This can be quite an annoying task

Since the piston came out, you basically opened up the brake system. If you got it back together and fluid is not leaking, just blead the brakes and you'll be fine.

if you can still push the brakes to the floor it might be your master cylinder going out
