Default Rebound and Bump

What's the difference? I saw some post which talks about reduce front rebound and increase rear bump so what's that mean?

Bump is the resistance of the damper when you compress the piston (such as going
over a bump).
Rebound is the resistance when the piston extends (such as recovering from a bump).
