Painting Valve Covers????
I want to paint the valve cover on my B18C, but I'm not sure of what way to get started because I dont want to **** it up. I searched for a DIY thread but I only found two and I dont think they were very helpful either. Anyway, I'm not looking to have my valve cover come out wrinkle or crinkle finish. I don't know how many of you have seen Eddie Hahm's Imola Orange EG on the new C16 magazine, but if you have, have you noticed his valve cover? That's the finish that I'm after, but using my own color on mine. My question is, does anyone have a good run down of how to do this without messing up the valve cover?
I want to know what do I need to do this?
What type of paint, masking tape, or primer do I need? Also, do I need fine grit sand paper?
Also, I read on one of the other threads that people use vaseline to mask the raised VTEC lettering to protect it from getting painted instead of masking tape. Why use vaseline and does it really work?
If possible, can you post pics of the how-to??
Thankz

common effing sense.
remove valve cover.
pour or spray aircraft paint remover.
rinse.
apply tape, chapstick or vaseline to raised letters.
paint with high temp paint.
let dry and wipe off letters.
reinstall.
