Valve COver!!! HELP!!
So i was at the gas station with some friends today, and i was checkin my oil, when i realized that both of the top two bolts holding the vlave cover on are broken right where the thread starts, i have no idea how this could happen, so anyone have any suggestions/ideas?
Thing that worries me is that when i put them back on from paintin my valve cover, they didnt break and that was a long time ago, but when i look at em there all scratched up, like someothings been hitting them...cant put new bolts in because the threads broke off in the engine part

Yep. Go to Honda and fork out the $8 a pop for 'em. Also buy a valve cover gasket, some hondabond, those spark plug hole gaskets and maybe even some of the little grommet things that go under your valve cover nuts on each corner. Not necessary, but since you're going to have the cover off anyway, why the hell not change all that stuff?
To get the bolts out you have to pull your valve cover off and have a deep well socket set. Not sure on the size. Break the studs loose, put the new ones on (torque to specs) and replace the valve cover gasket, spark plug gaskets, apply hondabond to the parts where the gasket is bent for the cams, and torque the valve cover bolts to spec. You overtorqued them last time that's why they broke.

The holes are pretty big, you might not need to pull the cover off. Honda says the valve cover gasket is re-usable. I'd definitly get the hondabond though. Nothing works as well.

Not gonna happen. This is experience of 2 snapped valve cover bolts speaking.

Pull the valve cover off and you'll see it.

u might have to drill it out and retap the hole by the sound of it, if you dont feel/or have the experience to do it take it to a machine show and they will do it for you for pretty cheap

The studs he's talking about are double sided. Threads on both side. One side goes into the head and the other side sticks up through the valve cover. Between those two sets of threads there's a place where a 10 or 12mm deep well socket can grab onto and he can pull it out that way. No drilling necessary.
Something like this but the center portion is 10 or 12mm and lets you grab onto it with a deep well socket.

And remember, when you install the new ones, DO NOT overtighten them. It is very easy to do and happens frequently. They only require 7 lb-ft of torque!
wow allirght i didnt even think about tightning them too much, the bolt in it wernt double sided, so maybe im jsut gonna have to get it drilled out.......how much do ya think thatd cost?
