Sohc Compression Test Results
Hey I just did a compression test on my 97 HX motor with 90K miles and the results came out kinda low to what I found on here: #1 100 #2 95 #105 #90 Thier is no blow by coming out the exhaust and the plugs looked to be kinda grey indicating they were lean but that shouldn't of effected the compression. Do you think my motor is gone? And would needing a oil change effected my results It's low by a quart at least.
If you buy a Hayne's, it tells you how to do just about ANYTHING. You have to buy a compression tester to do this. And needing an oil change shouldn't have anything to do with compression. But I definitely wouldn't drive around on 3 quarts of oil either.

Thats weird...all the numbers are consistent, but really low...most sohc's are supposed to be 180-200...
BUT...the HX only uses 1 intake valve until 2500...so that might have something to do with it. As long as the motor runs fine and you're not burning oil or coolant I wouldn't worry about it.
