When you guys rebuild.... Total Seal or OEM rings?
Quick question guys, I changed my oil on Saturday on my B18c-r and after some hard driving I checked my oil ( cause I have a huge oil consumption problem) and I found "nothing" on the dipstick!! There was no oil light on and my oil pressure still showed good ( upon throttle) so I went home and changed my oil, only took out 2 quarts.
I obviously need to tear her down again and was wondering what knd of rings you guys run on your cars? I picked up Ccfries last week and all I smell is burning oil and he confirmed it was not normal. Just wanted some opinions and suggestions cause I dont want to have to take her out again. Thanks.

There is no oil leak externally I am sure of it. Even under normal driving conditions, when I have the rear window down ( Del Sol) and I stop at a light I can smell the oil burning in my car, yet see no smoke unless I really launch and let her have it that's when I actually see the smoke. Upon startup I see a lil blue smoke but nothing really to worry about , but i'm burning oil bad. I cahnge my oil about twice a month at least.
My question is, I was told that Total Seal rings cause scoring, or even premature wear. Again I don't want to have to do this again and wanted some opinions on guys that have rebuilt their motors.
I asked here cause I figured the R guys would have good guggestions. Sorry feel free to move if neccasarry
Did a compression check and showed 240 acrosss except for cylinder 3 which was 220. I don't want tech advice just some opinions on what you guys have used with your motors.

Compression test won't tell you if your oil rings are bad.
My car burns 2-2.5 qts per oil change and still is over 210 across the board, same as it was when it wasn't burning any oil.

I changed my oil on Saturday and after some hard driving I checked my oil only to see I had about two quarts left. I put in 5 quarts too cause I know i'm burning it. And i've tried every oil on the planet from 20w-50 to 15w-50 to 5w30 to 10w30 from Mobil 1 to Roayl Purple, Amsoil etc. ( this is from a comment I made on the EG forum)
