Default Engine Swap Help. Make up my Mind

Im sure this question has been asked thousands of times but here I go. I own a 90 Si HB and I am looking to do an engine swap. I am stuck between a ZC or a B16. The ZC drops right in but is a little light on power. What mounts do I need to get the B16 in without cutting and welding. What trans is best for my application, I am looking for a good street trans but I want a highway gear too. What axles and shift linkage do I need too. I am also looking for a set of HP Racing Lightning wheels. I appreciate any help I can get.

i would go with the b16...i have it and like it a lot....you'll need hasport(what i have) or hcp mounts( i believe blownhatch can get it cheap) and both companies offer a adjustable shirt linkage....as for tranny you can get something like a s1 and put a ls 5th gear for freeway

What about going with a B18b I do a ton of street racing and do put on slicks. What is the deal with the axles, and what trans is best with that engine.

B18a is easier since you won't have to deal with the extra wiring on the b18b since it is either OBD1 or 2. You can use a 90-93 integra intermediate shaft and axles for a b18a or b16 swap into a civic/crx. As for the trans there are a lot of options and it depends on whether you are going to go all motor or forced induction. hth

b16a is the best bang for the buck... get it and you won't be dissapointed.

I've got the whole swap outlined for B series engines (non-ODB) on my site
http://www.phatwhippinCRX.20m.com

unfortuantly, its down until 1/1/02, it exceeded its monthky bandwidth limits. Dammit

yeah you could put in a b16 and be like all the other poo packers around here. ls/vtec is a real motor with real power not power at like 7000-8000. or just b18a/b. i hate b16a's. just cause they are everywhere. b

ls vtec is to unreliable and has alot of problems i was considering it for awhile and did alot of research and still was gonna try it and i made up my mind to go ls turbo and stay with a motor that wont be destroyed
