Ok, what gains are typically seen from a K&N FIlter on its own and also, does it add a ricer sound or does the filter itself not really affect how loud my car is?

Second....if I just buy a really cheap cold air intake and use the filter it comes with (appears to be about the same size as a K&N one) will it pretty much be teh same or is the K&N really that much superior?

Apexi is the best filter you can buy, but not cheap. K&N is also very good...

K, I'm going with apexi filter, does anyone know a cheap place online? There aren't many non-hustling auto shops within an hour of driving around here.
