HELP! painting rims on black hatch

second of all.. the instructions i've been told to do by numerous people was to first take off the wheels.. buy some aircraft remover, apply them and wait for like an hour and then wash them off.. next is to sand off whatever is left.. then primer it and then apply the paint (either bronze or black) and then finally after that clear coat it.. is that correct?
thanks for your help!</TD></TR></TABLE>
You could skip the aircraft stripper step all together and just sand them with like 320 and paint. If you do the aircraft stirpper sometimes it makes the surface uneven and you have to sand twice as much. my .02

yes this is good advice. i just painted my stockers and the surface on one of them is terrible. i wish i just scuffed them up a little with 320 grit paper and painted over them. I would suggest doing that. If i had to do it over again, i would NOT have used the Aircraft stripper. Good luck!

don't wanna thread hijjack, but painting my LS rims is something i was interested in doing also. I was wondering if anyone has experience with painting LS rims? they seem like theyd be a pain in the butt to sand. (all those nooks and crannys). Also if you have any pictures of painted LS rims that would be sweet.
