How does lowering the bike effect handeling?
less ground clearance.... suspension geometry + lots more i dont even know about i'm sure.
i would avoid lowering the bike if possible.

Front and rear can be lowered and raised to create different handling characteristics. Generally lowering the bike in the rear increases stability and slows steering response... Lowering in the front increases steering response and makes the bike more twitchy.. niether is bad or good, think of it as tuning your handling. Of course anything taken to the extreme is not good.

A toe is all you need brotha... anythign more is just smoking your hush puppies... but I guess the stunnta's like that. you can't lower the bike and maintain the geometry, specially in the front

Lowers the center of balance. I think. Probably not. Some physics term like that. Center of gravity, Center of Balance......

I lower the front of every bike I have owned. usually between 1.5-.75" depending

Depending on how bad you want it to handle?

I had the bike lowered. I can just touch
. I was hoping i was not loosing any handeling
I would like to lower it more so I can put a foot down .. but I'll leave it like it is

Like with a car, you need to be a good enough rider to differentiate between positive and negative affects. The only metric is time, so without running your bike around a track endlessly, you will never know the answer.
Whether or not you "lost" handling isn't the question. The question is whether or not you are a good enough rider to take advantage of or suffer from the effects of those changes.
Remember, the bike is better than you. Work on the rider.

words of wisdom, this makes a lot of sense to me... Anyhow if you guys don't think i need to lower my bike then i wont, i ride fine with it the way it is already. I just heard it was good to be able to be flat footed when sitting on your bike

i lower the front of mine about a inch. The steering does feel more responsive than stock. The only down side of it is that I lean forward more and it hurst my back after awhile. This is my first bike so I'm still learning as I go.
Im doing some work to my bike now. I have it apart.
I was looking at the seat. It sits a good 5" off the frame.
I think im going to try and drop the seat a bit, or maybe take out some of the padding.
I found an auction on ebay where you send the guy your seat and he takes 2" out of it. Sounds like a good idea.
Anyone know any place online that sells lowered seats? I looked with no luck.
Slow-- who is too short to touch the ground.. Plat form boots? what?
