I run B20 rods with stock bolts for well over a year shifting at 9500

That is exactly what I run in my daily driver/ race hatch. I have put many miles on the motor and they are perfectly fine to 9200. That is what I shift at when I am at the track and getting on the Freeways somtimes. They hold up just fine.

You can get them shotpeened to add some strength, or spend 300.00 for some Eagles . I would imagine with the correct install (clearances, bearings, ect), arp rod bolts, and a crank girdle, stock rods would be ok. I went forged for peace of mind.

reliability increases a lot if the bolts where stretched properly.

Wow. How often do you shift at 9500? I'm surprised that you haven't spun a rod bearing by now.

replace the rod bolts with ARP bolts and use fresh bearings and taking it to 9 wouldnt be a problem if you're taking it that high , i'd recommend a NICE valvetrain upgrade unless you would like some valve float

My thoughts exactly! I would shotpeen the rods and use arp bolts, and new bearing for going that high of rpms!

i would think that stock rods @9500 would mean trouble , but i have arp bolts on ls rods , and i rev my all motor ls to 8200 and it loves it ....

It did spin a bearing but I went from 3rd to 2nd in a race. plus it was after a whole alot of abuse. I took the motor apart and the stock rod bolt were not the cause it simple streght a rod.
