Default ECU newb questions: help needed

Greetings... recently bought a stock civic HB... I have some extra money laying around... so I'm looking to buy a motor soon for the car... wondering what ecu I should use... I'm totally a newb to this and I don't know anything about honda ecu's or any ecu's for that matter...

I did a number of searches on HT, and saw people talking about p30's and chipped p28's and hondata ecu's and ubertata ecu's... what's the difference between these.. what should I be looking at if I'm planning on buying a b18c5 motor? I did a number of searches but there wasn't a thread that explained the fundementals... seems that most people that post on this forum already know their stuff pretty well.

From what I understand by asking around... I don't really want to use the stock b18c ecu? Friend told me that it was programmed to throw off timing at low rpm's? Is that true? Therefore using a diff ecu can fix this problem and maximize the potential of the motor? Please clue me in... have some really basic questions I want to ask...

1. What is a p28 ecu? Why do people 'chip' it and use it
2. What is a p30/p75/p72/p whatever ecu? What's the advantages/disadvantages
3. Why shouldn't I use the stock type R ecu? Why is it limited in some ways?
4. What are hondata and ubertata ecu's, what are their advantages?
5. What are some other honda ecu's out there that I missed that I could use?
6. Can honda ecu's be tuned and programmed?
7. Any other info that might teach me the basics also welcome.

Sorry for what might seem dumb questions but I need to get this straight before I buy the motor...
