tachs are off. Get a V-AFC if you want to see it. Plus there is a difference between when VTEC engages and when it actually 'hits' it's a mechanical system.
The answers are in the Helms if you doubt me.

Not on any stock Prelude ECU, from where do you hear this from?

ok satan then why does my 1993 jdm vtec engines vtec engages at 5400 rpm and not 4900 stock jdm p13 ecu ////// get a vafc and you can tune it to anything you want .... how is you re h23 vtec holding up? take it to 7500 rpm at every shift?
I heard stuff about tachs being off too. However, my VTEC engages exactly when the tach hits 5,200 rpm, that is also when VTEC is suppose to kick in on a H22a4. Does this mean my tach isn't off 400 rpm like what I hear about tachs being inaccurate by that much?

I don't know, your tach is off. I don't have an h23 VTEC...I have an h22a...

how would a dizzy change the tach...i would have to say no. and yes the tach is off 200-400 rpm depending where your rpm's are at. the higher you rev the more your tach is off

w/ my h22 vtec kicked in at 5400, but you need to get a VAFCII or something. Its fun having vtec hit whenever. Mines set for 4800, nice and smooth all the way to the top of the band.
