OBD2b D16Y7 into an 89 CRX DX
I was wondering what would be required to install an OBD2b D16Y7 into an 1989 CRX DX. I currently have a 1999 Civic DX Hatcback and looking to throw an B18C1 into that over the winter. I was considering the thought of throwing the original motor into a CRX I have. I understand the physical portion swap itself should be pretty easy. The concern I have is if I'm using an OBD2b ECU (For E-Check purposes), I would re-use the engine harness. How about the CRX dash harness? It seems to me that this would need to be rewired with OBD2b ECU connections. Correct?
you can get a subharness to convert to obd-1.
you will keep your crx harness for the swap
you also need to convert to mpfi before or during the swap
pretty much use search and look around, it's all there

Your best bet is to use the Y7 LONGblock only and swapover most of the other items from an 88-91 CIVIC/CRX Si (INT/EXH Mani, dist, Fuel Injectors etc.)and have it run my a PM6 ECU
Keep it simple

You can go either OBD1 or use the OBD2 ecu if you wanted to. You can run the OBD0, 1 or 2 injectors if you want. The only requirements will be to change the injector clips/resistor box.
You will want to reuse your stock DX engine harness and rewire it to MPFI. If you need any more help or a conversion harness, let me know.

I put a d16y7 in my 90 crx si and just used my intake mani, dizzy, and all the other obd0 parts with my stock harness and it runs fine
