H22A Motor - What are all the variations of this motor?
Does anyone know the differences in spec between say a H22A1 and H22A2?
What about the others ..A4 ..A5 etc
Also the JDM Prelude Type S- Has which motor ?H22A7?

In North America, the 1993-1996 H22a has the desigantion H22a1. The 1997+ H22a is H22a4. There are differences between the two, but nothing that significantly affects stock power output. The specific differences between the two have been rehashed many times on this board. Try a search.
However, in Japan, Honda motors typically do not have a differentiating stamp on the engine block. The 220ps JDM "TypeS" H22a is just stamped H22a. It looks the same from the ouside as any 200ps H22a. This is why it is very risky to import a "TypeS" H22a motor. There is no way that I've ever heard of to visually identify a TypeS motor short of the red valve cover - and that is a part that is easily changed by an unscrupulous engine importer...
I have never heard of an "H22a7", an "H22a5", or an "H22a2". The motor may have been stamped with those designations for sale in another territory like Europe or Austrailia, but there has never been an "H22a7", "H22a5" or "H22a2" motor sold in Japan or the North Americas... Also AFAIK, the 220ps "Prelude TypeS" was only sold in Japan.
