Ian,

Great timing... I may be in the market for something early next year. If I decide on a Ford, I will definitely contact you.

My 2004 F250 power stroke sucks ***.... it looks pretty but gets about 9-10mpg towing at 75mph.... gets maybe 14mpg in mixed highway driving..... It has been in the shop a few times in the first 5k miles...... it just isn't what I was expecting for a $42k sticker price (i paid $36.5k i think).

Go Chevy!!!!!

Is this a gasser? V-10? If so, you are doing better than the guys with the GM product. My friend has the GMC with the 8.1L & the Allison in a 3/4 ton, extended cab shortbed 4X4. He is getting 10.5mpg city & happy when he gets 12mpg highway.

Duh!

Funny, my '04 F350 6.0 PSD dually crewcab longbed 2wd gets about 11 mpg towing @ 70. I tow a 26' enclosed Classic Terminator trailer.

I get 17-ish mpg mixed highway here in CA empty. Trailer has a full box of tools & spares including 8 extra wheels/tires so it ain't light. Is your cold side intercooler tube leaking? That would definitely make you loose power/mpg. They have a TSB out for that now.

Chevys & Dodges have their of problems too unfortunately.

My dad has that truck and installed this gas saver and on average he said he is getting about 14mpg.

You've obviously never towed anything large and heavy before.
