Default B series Turbo kits

Is $2500 a good deal for a B series Turbonetics turbo kit w/intercooler professionally INSTALLED?

yea, that's good. I see kits just to buy for $2500. Only if you trust the installer then go for it. But it depends on how good the kit is. You may be able to DIY homemade DSM turbo for cheaper and get more output.

How powerful of a turbo we talking about here?

Do the diy its way cheaper. For 800 you can get everything you need plus have money left over for tuning and such.

DIY is always cheaper, but if you don't know what you are doing it will cost you the most in the long run also.
If you know what you are doing go DIY, otherwise get the kit and have someone reputable install it for you.
