Default ECU and Tuning advice on setup

Setup:
96 honda civic hatchback
94-01 JDM b18c Type R
Stock Header
AEM Intake
2.5 exhaust with magnaflow muffler
ACT extreme heavy duty 4 puck clutch
ACT 12.5lb flywheel
Rocket Racing M22 Cams
Rocket Racing Valve Springs
Rocket Racing Retainers
50-75 shot of nitrous

My question is should i run a chipped p28 ECU or should i run the stock Type R ECU. Also with either setup should i get a VAFC to be able to tune a little or isnt the VAFC going to do much for me thanx guys

The only piece in your setup that would make me think twice of running a chipped P28 would the nitrous.

Be very wary of how much advanced timing is put into the chip, you can't go with a lot.

We could get you a good custom program to run your NA setup nicely, but I would usually suggest running an ignition timing retard module hooked up to the nitrous button, to keep that motor safe. Hope this helps

yes it does help. Yes there will be a Jacobs nitrous ignition controller. this controller lets you retard your timing, shuts off nitrous if fuel pressure drops, and stops desctructive over-revving with a feather touch rpm limiter. also i will have an AEM UEGO wideband to see what my A/F ratio is running also i will have a VAFC. is there any other informaion that you can give me about the setup and ECU and if im doing anything wrong

1) Go with Action Clutch. It will last much longer. People here can vouch for that.
2) J's Intake
3) AN-R Header or Rick Solis Header
4) Kteller exhaust
5) General tune-up items
6) Hondata or Crome (custom chipped supplied with cams).

7) if you guys are good mechanics re-ring the motor.

Then go for it...make sure the program is tuned to match your all motor setup.

Given your specs, I'm sure you're running pretty strong without the spray...and with the proper tuning you will run optimally (and hopefully won't have to spray often ). Have someone make you a solid program to match the cams nicely, then adjust the Jacobs module accordingly for spray....and put that wideband to good use Good luck!
