95 del sol d16z6 upgrade suggestions
Recently aquired a 95 del sol si with 138,000 miles on it, and was wondering the best route to take to upgrading it. Want to start slow but also want to get the best performance per piece of equipment. If any can help, it would be appriciated.

I eventually want to put a turbo on it. I thought about dropping a H22 in it but it would cost too much for me, so I'm looking to get as much out of this motor as I can.

eh...if you wanna go turbo, you should just buy a kit or piece one together, build the bottom end, stuff like that...there's really no bolt on that you'll keep(header/intake etc.)

So if I wanted to go turbo, and I bought a cold air intake and headers, you're saying I'd have to replace them???

yea. the intake would be useless because the air will be going through the turbo, rather than the TB, and the header would be useless because you will need a turbo manifold

The header yes, but you could conceivably use the cai as piping to route from your intercooler to intake manifold

So how about some specifics guys? Who is currently running a turbo setup with his engine? What kind of internal work needs to be done. How much will it cost and what kind of numbers are being put down?
Also, can someone answer my first question? What kind of potential is there if he goes all motor?

The name is from Coming to America. It was the name of the band that sang at the church. "Put you hands together for SxualChkL8" "That boy good, he can sing"
Anyways, I think for now it will be all motor. I've seen that the turbo kits will run around $2000, so I'll replace what I'll have to when the time comes. So, as Slow asked, "So what kind of potential is there if I decide to go N/A?"

personaly if he is wanting something kindove simple but fun to install.
i would get a JRSC they run about 800-1000 same price as a use turbo kit, but they are more reliable, they are bolt on, and fun to drive. and he can always use his header, and exhaust, just buy a header with longer primaries
a turbo would be your best bang for the buck. but a JRSC is more reliable and easyer of an install.

i had a 92 si stock then i gutted it put delsol rims onit, 4 to 1 header, complete exhaust, intake, injectors, msd coil, fpr and milled the head and it was quick but in the long run n/a gutted hatch really wasen't what i wanted so in whent the b16. my suguestion is if you want the gutted look then go ahead and spend the time and money because it just that much sweeter when you beat a swaped civic and you still have a d series
I have 94 honda civic coupe All motor d16 Intake,Headers,piping,exhaust,chipped ecu;fully gutted,no a/c,no power steering,thicker wires,crank pulley, keeping up with bone stock si's.
ok one! i got a d-15 series motor. so this is intresting. cuz im in the same boat. BUT im such a fuking NooB. that i dont know wtf N/A means..... can someone help>?
