1997 Accord DX when starting engine cold idiling funny.
I notice that when I start my engine in the morning, the enging at idile will rev up and down on it's own for about a minute, then it levels off.
What the hell is causing this?

yeah, i already got a thread about this up, "want to get question answered once and for all" no answers yet. haha i don't think anyone knows.

i would start by checking the fast idle thermo valve. it is located underneath the throttle body. it controls erratic running when the car is cold. take it off and and dissassemble, check for any problems and clean. should fix your problem.

the throttle body is located where your intake tube from the filter connects to the intake manifold. Look just below where they meet and you'll find the FITV.
If you go back to that thread with the instuctions, go down around the middle of the first page and you'll see someone posted pictures of where the FITV is located. That should help you to find it.
As for the IACV or EACV (heard it called both ways), that is located on the back side of the intake manifold. When your looking from the front of the car, it's bolted to the back of the intake manifold just to the right of the throttle body and just a couple inches from the firewall. It's hard to see from the front of the car, so look from the side. It has two coolant lines that go into it and it's bolted to the inatke manifold by only two bolts I think.
