Default Hytech 2.0L header on 1.8L block

A buddy of mine is thinking about picking up an used Hytech 2.0L big bore/big tube header from a fellow forum member, just wondering if it would be a good and efficient idea for him to use it on a stock C5 motor that literally has no mods on it whatsoever. He'll tune w/ a FPR and add an exhuast but that's about it.

thanks guys

you will see some gains.. but it won't make as much power as the smaller header they have..

I saw a substantial torque dip at 6-7,000 rpm my stock block ITR, tuned. Sold the big tube Hytech header and bought the standard size Hytech ITR header and it worked better. The peak numbers were pretty good with the big tube header, but I was looking for gains throughout the power band.

Why would there be two different headers? The port and the valve are the same sizeon both motors. The tube dia. should be the same size as the port.It would'nt
matter if the motor was 6000cc ,the head only flows so much.
