If the topic wasn't clear can anyone tell me if the imitation aem cai sounds as good as the actual one or if it is a lot quieter?

Second question, does it have the same gains as an AEM or much less?

I would say it would work the same as the AEM. I bought a CAI from ebay for 40$and then a k&n filter for another 40$. I would highly recommend doing that. just as hondafiend said spend the money elsewhere. There is no need to get an aem when you are getting the same thing for cheaper.

I'm more worried about the sound quality than anything...power gains are second in my mind. My car is completely stock, does intake pretty much always sound the same or is the old saying "you get what you pay for" going to apply here?

If you are installing an intake just for the sound, then you are on the wrong board bud.

A short ram intake will sound better than a cold air intake.

God, I hate gangsta-wannabe ricers.....

No one really cares about the sound unless they're a dumbass. Therefore your best bet would be buy any intake desined by a dumbass. I'd try to see if you can find one that has a fake carbon fiber overlay

Are you a ******* idiot?

How can you make a comment saying "nobody cares about sound" when there are 10,000 threads covering exhaust tones....

I asked a simple ****** question, do cheaper intakes sound worse than say the highly priced AEM, Iceman, Weapon R CAI's...?

Take the stick out of your *** kid

Here you go G-money.

XPS AIR INTAKE
Boosts engine's sound to a super-high performance level, then takes it back down…with a touch of a button in the cockpit
Takes the sound of your Civic's engine from mild to wild!
Krank-It™ combines a tuned intake runner and a patented active feedback amplifier
Tuned runner adds 6 to 10 HP by bringing higher volumes of cooler air into the engine. Feedback amplifier boosts the acoustical signature of the engine's intake to one of the 3 levels you select. The sound effect is amazing and the performance boost is a terrific bonus.

No one will ever do a drive-by on you cuz they be intimidated by your intakezzzzz

You have a very good point. I am not one of those people that make those threads, however, and most of the guys in the Prelude forum don't either. It's mostly them damn Civic kids....

who do you think you are, with your 23 posts, already starting internet battles.

It's an intake, and if you want one that sounds cool so you can impress the other boyz at the rice-lots, then just put a filter on your throttle body.

get an ebay one and a new filter like mentioned before, and stop being a duschebag
