Hey everyone- I'm in the process of a deal to buy some stuff from I Have An STD. He seems like a good guy, but I was looking for some sort of vouch in his sig. or a vouch thread. I can't find anything. Can anyone give me some advice or vouch for him? Thanks.

There's nothing wrong with that.

You use "an" when it's in front of a word starting with a, e ,i ,o, and u. Since he's using the letter "S" is just like having the word "es". So he's actually right in saying "An STD"

Cant vouch for him but all i could recommend is paying by credit or debit card if possible. Send any checks with "certified return receipt"

There is nothing wrong with this, but you've given the wrong reason why. You put an "an" when it's in front of an abbreviation. This is the case here.

Like I said, since you actually pronounce each letter seperate in the abreviation (STD) saying the letter "S" is just like say "es" in "especially".
It's the same as saying "Sally has AN especially nasty case of crabs"

You use the word AN because the next word after it starts with a, e, i, o, or u.

Not true. For example if you have a abbreviation of "P.H.D.T.S."
You wouldn't say "Hey, can you hand me an P.H.D.T.S. form"
You'd use "a"
