Im trading 2 ls tranny's one with a cracked casing its hydro and the other is fine but its cable. This trade is going to take place for a gsr tranny.. how will i be able to tell the difference before i install it and feel the shorter gear ratio's.... is there anyway that i would be able to tell that this in town dude and i wont have any problems with this swap. by looking at the tranny and not cracking it open..

My hydro ls tranny has S80 marked on it. and the weird thing is I go to this in shop town last night to pick my tranny up and they have a type r tranny there with lsd. and it said S80 on it as well they were even confused. so I am at a loss at this point i did a search and didnt come back with anything. helpful. maybe if there were a vin or something i could tell what car it originated in anything will help though thanks..
