Can someone learn me about coilovers???
Aright I have 3 questions...
1.) I know that is a spring sitting on two sleeves, and one sleeve is thread so that you can screw the spring so that is more compact, which I am guessing is what raises and lowers the car. But if I were to get the Skunk2 coilovers for instance, which don't come with shocks, how do I know if they will fit on my shocks, or will I have to buy aftermarket shocks, and if I do, how will I know that the coilovers will work with them?
2.) I am right in assuming that all coilovers go over the shocks, right?
3.) What are the advantages of coilovers over a regular lowering spring system? I am pretty sure once I have my car low I won't want to mess with the ride height, or do yall think I will? Like to test different settings at the track?
Sorry this is so unorganized and kind of ramble-ish, but this is the best way I could phrase my questions...

Yes you are correct. Coilovers will go over the shock and can be height adjusted by the 2 adjustment perches. The coilovers can go over any shock weather it be stock or aftermarket. Let me know if you are interested in the Skunk2's I can get you a great deal on them. Visit the ms1motorsports.com forum at http://s8.invisionfree.com/MS1...x.php?. 1 & 2. "Sleeve" coilovers go over shocks and are adjustable, and they will fit with stock or aftermarket shocks.
3. The advantage is the adjustability in ride height.
If you want this adjustability in ride height, you might want to check out a 'full coilover' system. These have a threaded shock body, and they are the springs/shocks both. You just turn the entire assembly to adjust them. If you want to go cheaper and stay with just sleeve coilovers, I would recommend checking out Ground Control coilovers. They utilize Eibach springs, and are not as bouncy as most coilovers seem to be.
