1995 Yamaha YZF 600 or 2001 Kawasaki Ninja 500?
Ok so later on today my friend and I are going to look at these two bikes, but I don't really know which ones a great beginners bike for him. Since my first bike was a katana so I don't know how they ride. Well he wants one with good handling and great for speed. BTW the 2001 ninja is running 1300 and the yzf is running for 1900. What I think he should go for is the ninja, since he said he's only going to ride for a few months and hop onto a better bike. Any inputs? TIA

Either one would probably be fine, it depends on the condition of each bike. Don't get one that he is going to have to drop a load of cash on just to get it up and running.
I'd go with the ninja. It is newer, smaller, and since he has plans of selling it in the near future...reselling will be easier on the 500. It is really hard to sell 600Rs when the R6 isn't very far off, price-wise. There will always be a market for beginner bikes and the 600r isn't really a begginers bike.
