All motor LS, what's next
Hey guys, I drive a 95 LS, so far all I've got is intake and exhaust. I'm thinkin about goin all motor. But I kinda also wanna keep it smog legal cuz the smog peeps are bastards in cali. My question is what should I get next? Cams, Cam gears, TB, Intake mani...etc. Any suggestions are appreciated. I'm not an all out racer but I want some umph, know what I mean? And if you could list some prices on those mods.
cams/valve springs/cam gears/bored throttle body
all those will make a noticable diffrence. but the tranny will hold you back quite a bit. a GS-R tranny makes a night and day diffrence. while your at it get a light weight aluminium flywheel as well.......

the first step in the world of n/a hp is compression. this will make you really n/a. next choice woul be a large lift long dration cam set-up. i personally would go pistons but if you dont want crack the head off just go with the cams.
What I did after the intake & exhaust was get a new aftermarket header like DC, etc. Also repiping if you didn't get a catback exhaust system. Then go with some cams & adj. gears. Depending on what kind of cams (duration & lift, etc.), you might need stiffer valve springs. And the list goes on.......

The trick is to let everyone else do the work and dyno's. You just search and search and find NA upgrades that really add performance to your engine and drivetran. Lets say an after market intake manifold add gains of upto 8 HP for a B18. It may add little to NO gains on your engine. I have a B21A1 prelude engine which few people are running here, and I managed to find every NA upgrade that adds true gains w/o doing the work myself, such as cam gear settings, I'm all set... Good luck!
Old gen2 LS tranny is better
clutch cable engages harder too
on street, your stock cams (tunned)
are probably the best if you wanna get the first pull
Tunned stock cams w/ stock intake manifold will make midrange
You want some midrange after you shift so..
get a shorter ratio tranny but dont go too short though,
94' & up gsr ratios are nice
