Looking to Get a 05 Accord Exl
Hi all,
New to this site...
I am looking at getting an 05 accord ex m l as the stand by family car, and was wondering what issues have been reported on the 04's or if any have been reported on the 05's
Was offered a 05 at invoice... is that the best deal that people have been able to find? - think that it is pretty good for the 05's
anywho
thanks for listening

I got the '05 V-6 MT a month ago, and it's a great car. ***** fast and loaded. Get the Navi, you'll forever regret it if you don't. I drove an STi, an Evo, a Mazda 6, an RX-8, a G35, and an SRT in the weeks before I bought, and the Accord was by far the best car overall and the best value. I drive it last because I wanted to have all my comparisons in mind when I did. But the car sold me the moment I sat down in it, before I even turned the key. Nothing beats a Honda, it's just that simple.
My advice is to look for a deal over the internet. I got a very good deal, and didn't have to haggle at all. My local dealer doesn't even use the four-square BS, it was all computerized, and every cost was very clear. Their first offer was $100 less than the price I had researched. I drove onto the lot at 7 PM and drove off in my new car at 9:30 PM.

Ok, I amend that to, I would regret it. Made me think, tho, doesn't make the car any better to drive, it just helps direction-impaired people like me find things

Last week I purchased a 2005 EX V6 with AT and Navi. Shopped around using the internet as my guide. Got a price from one dealer and got that bettered by another. Did this for about an hour and ended up buying for $600 UNDER invoice. Paid $12 for a Consumer Reports "report" on what the dealer paid for the car INCLUDING their holdback ($861).
Marina ... First thing I did was go to carsdirect.com and got a quote from them. It was about $150 over invoice. Stopped by the first dealer and mentioned the quote from Carsdirect and said I would prefer to buy "locally" (you can define locally anyway you want
). They quoted at invoice. Then went on the internet through the Honda corporate website and found a couple more dealers. Emailed them for quotes and when they responded with a price, I emailed back that I "already" had a quote at invoice. Invariably they emailed back with an even better price. I think you get the picture. Good luck.

7th gens often have issues with wearing through brake pads really quickly......otherwise nothing ive heard of, but most problems (if any) wont show up till after the car has been in produciotn, and on the street for a few years
Just got my 05 EX Coupe (V6 6Spd.) I didn't get the nav system (another $2000) but I'm very happy with the car. Paid $530. under sticker, in NY...and I've put 200 miles on the car so far. I've learned this: If you don't get the Nav. System with the car, then you cannot get it installed later. You can get an aftermarket system, but not the Honda System with all the good stuff like 200 voice commands ( go home, go to ****address**** etc.) a serious consideration. The nav system, CD changer, am/fm radio, xm radio, and climate control computer all use the same screen, and I believe are somewhat intregrated in the dash and steering wheel.
All in all .........I love the car!
P.S. Heated Seats He He, Ho Ho, Ha Ha

I drive the 6. It was ok, maybe even handled a little better than the Accord, but it was a lot slower, and the brakes were giving off the burning smell after a moderate test drive. And it just didn't feel as solid.
Oh yeah, the heated seats are the deal. Girl I'm dating thinks they're "dirty", and literally melts when they warm up
Every night I say a little thanks to Soichiro Honda

I didn't get the navigation system either... And another bad thing is that with the new accords, you can't install an aftermarket deck unless you get that dash kit specially made for the 7th gen accords. But another bad thing is that i have the stock 6-disc cd changer and they don't make the dash kits for mine.... So yea... I want to get an LCD, and i may have to get an overhead one if i can find one that can fit.... anyone know any overhead LCD for the 7th gen coupes?
I have used the Garmin which has a sandbag that sit atop the dash. You just plug it into the 12 volt outlet and youre good to go. You can use it in more than one car and will cost half of what the built in one costs (which makes sense since your not getting all the fancy features).
The Garmin works fine it and does the job very well.
I just got an Accord V6 EX 2005 w/o Nav but I am very happy with my decision. Believe me I thought long and hard about it.
I don't currently own a portable Nav yet. I waiting for the prices to drop further. But for now my wife is the Nav system until we have kids. Then I will definitely have to buy one!!!
