I have a 91 civic hatch that came with a 4spd tranny. I recently had to swap out engines because of a bad valve. I also swapped the tranny to a 5spd tranny. I am still using the old obd 0 ecu that came with the car. Everything seems to be running just fine, except for I have gone through 2 distributors now and I am currently on a third one which I bought brand new. Is my ECU the problem, is it programmed to run the 5th gear even though the car came stocked with a 4spd tranny? Cause the 5th gear is working great and I dont have any check engine lights.
