Default A few questions about exhaust piping.

First off, do you guys let the the shop install the header and cat at the same time or do you drive their with an open header? Secondly, do I need to buy piping and mandrel bent piping or can they do this for me? I'm sure the second question really depends on the shop, so if anyone has had experience with Golden Auto in SF, let me know. and do I need to buy a cat myself or is it a thing that can be bought readily at any any exhaust shop?

It is Christmas Eve man... anyway, don't ask why i'm here.
On the cat first. Do a search on "hi-flow cats" here for the correct part #(can't remember the name of the manufacturer for some reason), or someone who sells a direct fit part that will mate to your header.
#2 most of the guys here(i'm going out on a limb here) install headers themselves. Although if it doesn't mate to your cat., test-pipe, or whatever, this could make for a loud ride to the exhaust fabricator. Bring ear-plugs and avoid Police stations. hehe
#3 call ahead of time to find out if the exhaust place you plan on visiting has mandrel-bent tubing, not crimp, or crush-bent, but they have real, contant diameter, mandrel-bent tubing in the size you prefer. If they don't, I suggest looking elsewhere, or, ordering it ahead of time and bringing it with you when you go. Again, call ahead of time on this.
Hope this helps,

merry x-mas
