HID --> JDM headlight fitment
Hey guys and gals,
Did you guys have issues with fitting your HIDs into the JDM housing. By just looking at the housing, it seems that the bulb may be too long to fit in there properly. Did you guys remove the stock 'reflector cap' (circled in red)? I have a set of used mcculloch's that I want to put in but I just wanted to see how some of you did it so I wouldnt have to learn the hard way. They already have, along with the glare shield, a 'reflector cap' also. Any imput is appeciated. Thanks.

I have a 5th gen and got some shady hid's off of ebay. but they defianteley do not, either just dont fit or i got boned by a shady seller. unless you need to cut the plastic apart and ghetto it to fit.
are you sure that those are "real" hid? cause most that I've seen are a convex shape and look nothing like a conventional "bulb" It looks like your "HID" is nothing but a blue bulb with a ghetto reflector. A ture hid comes with some type of a control/wiring box that hooks up to the lights to emit the gas discharge, hence the "high intensity (gas) discharge" =HID
wow... dummy... if u were to look at the bulb u would see the "gas" and its "discharge" u acutally see tubes not tunsten wires or watever u see in regular halgen bulbs... lets see who's smart now????

your casper shield is probably preventing it from fitting in correctly ... either shorten your carsper shield( bad idea) because ures looks nice or lengthen the reflector shield by shaving some of it off ... either way they both serve the same purpose ...
Hey guys, a little update and help needed..
I finally had time to just go out and see if they worked, and they did when i powered them directly from the battery. Seems to be that the power going through the headlight harness isn't supplying enough power to fire up the HIDs. How did you guys go about fixing this, or did you even have this problem?

that is correct. they should come with bulbs and a little bit of the wiring harness. just butt connect your connections and you should be good.
