my 96 gsr's engine makes a strange noise like a baseball card going through the spokes of a bike wheel (only higher pitched) when i am driving at anywhere from 3000-3500 rpm...the car still runs like a champ but im curious....if any1 has any idea what could be causing this please let me know.

 

When was the last time you changed the rotor and plugs?
Is it comming from the motor for sure?

 

the plugs and rotor were recently changed, im pretty sure its coming from the motor, could be wrong but like 95% sure

 

if your engine is 'clicking', your valves probably need adjustment.

 

if it's like my prelude i had... it was a bad timing belt auto tensioner... when you let off the gas around those rpms.. you can really notice it

 

Integras don't have automatic timing-belt adjusters. But they do have tensioners that you're supposed to adjust every 30k miles. Just like you're supposed to adjust valve lash every 30k...

How long has it been since doing either one of these?

Can you make the noise by revving while you watch under the hood? Try to pinpoint the location for us.
