My 3" exhaust project, 4G civic hatch
i should have mentioned, i put that flange on to connect to a header while im finishing collecting turbo parts, I will be going to a 3" down pipe as well.
Bends were from ebay, straight sections were from summit, i think.

The muffler was ~$75, the U-bends (2 needed) were ~$25 each, and the straight section was ~$25 for the long one and $5 for the short one. Came out to around $155, plus it took 2 spools of wire ($8/each). Total cost involved roughly $170. Took 4 hours to do w/o a chop saw though.

what are you gonna do if you want to put a new muffler on? They sell just mandrel bent midsections in summit for like 120 bucks, and the muffler you can get on ebay for like 40 bucks. Either way good job on the fab work since you made it yourself.
Have you tried to install it in the car? I did the exact same thing on my turbo hatch, minus the fart can, and it was a bitch to get on the car in that big one piece. Mine was just straight 3" all the way from turbo out and i had to put the rear section through the LCA and then rotate the exhaust up into place, which means the car had to be jacked up about 2 feet just to do so.
Hope you have better luck than me, it looks nice.

yeah, it fits real good, most of the welding was done on the car. I pulled it off to weld the top and paint it. I couldnt get any good pics of it on the car because my shop is too dark for my digi cam.
to put it on I just drop the LCA, it is only two bolts (that are easier to reach then b-pipe to muffler flange bolts anyway).

how did you use 2 spools to make that? were they 1/4lb ones or something? I can build like 2 whole turbo kits, including manifolds, charge pipes, DP, exhaust & brackets with one spool.
it looks pretty decent, i'm sure it flows just as well as any premade one

1lb spools of .30 flux core
maybe i just use alot? I'm used to the like 20lb spools in the welder i had access to before, maybe i'm just not very efficient.
