How many are located in Atlanta? I might be heading out to an event there on Jan 12-13th. Anybody interested?

Yes, it's with Porsche people and TracQuest. Cost is $300 1 day $500 2 days. It's a very well ran school. I just helped them at Sears Point for two days. The instructors I worked with were all excellent. You will get lots of track time. If turn out is not too high it might turn into open lapping and basically you can run any group you feel comfortable in...

If you decide to go it'd be nice if you told 'em I sent ya, I'm instructing there if I go but I do get additional perks if you mention my name.

It depends on the angle you look at it... Is it the cheapest track time? No. I'll give some examples. The cheapest track time is the events where people get together to share the track cost, as cheap as say $125, and plenty of tracktime. Usually no instructors. Otherwise some you pay $175, and you get four 20 min sessions. TracQuest isn't exactly catered to the budget people. The students usually drive usually BMW, Porsche, Ferrari's. With 3 run group you get five 30 mins sessions at the very least. You also get really good instructors. And if all the students are doing well and track is not packed it turns into restricted open track sessions - meaning you can run all day long. That's what happened last week at Sears Point, every thing went so well.
So the initial cost is on the steep side, but you will get a lot of track time and have a great time. Ohh and TracQuest serves the BEST catered food I've ever had at any track event, cost is included. And your entry fee includes a nice dinner banquet too. TracQuest likes to make it a good fun experience instead of just get to the track, drive, and go home. The instructor/student setup is different than the norm too. Rather than forcing a student to stick with an instructor, students are suggested to try a different instructor every session, and all the instructor are suggested to always take students for rides. Meaning you will spend the whole day driving or getting rides. The students tend to progress a bit faster at a TracQuest event than others due to the amount of seat time (passeger seat time always helps).
If are near Road Atlanta I invite you guys to just stop by and check it out on Sat. Maybe you'll decide to run on Sunday.
